The power of mobile in your marketing campaign strategy
I have done a lot of mobile marketing campaigns and have always been amazed at the exceptional results it brings.
I read an interesting article on Bizcommunity about integrating mobile to create compelling campaigns. Asha Lad, director of Avetio says “While mobile technologies are increasingly being embraced in marketing campaigns, there is still disparity in budget allocation, particularly compared with more traditional marketing channels. Investment in mobile lags behind, and only accounts for approximately 1% of marketing spend, compared to how much time users are interacting with mobile”. This is a fact and the reality is marketing spend should be increased significantly for mobile campaigns.
If you are still not convinced that mobile marketing works then start with a small campaign and study your results. Slowly edge your marketing into it and you will be amazed at just how effective it is.
You need to profile your target market and realise what media they are consuming to better position your overall campaign but try mobile. Here, I am specifically talking about South Africa but what about the rest of Africa?
Mobile marketing in Africa works! We recently ran a mobile recruitment campaign in Africa and from the moment the campaign was launched until it had ended the results were amazing.
The applications for the clients service grew daily and we learnt that Africa LOVES and prefers Facebook due to the significant likes and new fans on their brand page. After the users had applied on the client site they had a choice of connecting with the client on Twitter, Linkedin or Facebook and the ONLY social media community that was joined was on Facebook – interesting!
With a clear campaign strategy in mind and a good mobi site strategy there is no doubt that you can reach and fulfil your campaign objectives.
Try it and let the results speak for themselves!
